The January transfer window comes to an end in a week and Liverpool FC continue to be linked with a move to sign Monaco’s Thomas Lemar with reports the Anfierld club have agreed personal terms with the player.
The MirrorandYahoo Sportsare reporting an agreement between the Liverpool FC and the player who has scored three goals this season for the French Liga 1 club.
Liverpool are still in the hunt for a replacement for Phillipe Coutinho after the Brazilian moved to Barcelona for a reported £142 million this month.
Monaco would demand around £90 million for the talented French international, the same fee which Arsenal were also quoted in the summer.
It remians to be seen if the latest links are true and if the merseyside outfit are prepared to meet the asking price having spent £75 million on Virgil Van Djyk from Southampton.
The latest links come as Liverpool fans grow increasingly frustrated with the clubs January transfer activity after seeing rival teams bolster their attacks.
The Anfield faithful have seen their star playmaker, Coutinho, sold and the club are reportedly close to offloading Daniel Sturridge with Inter Milan showing interest in the England international.
Liverpool went 18 games without defeat before Monday night’s visit to Swansea resulted in a 1-0 loss bringing the three month unbeaten run to an end in a game where Liverpool were accused of lacking a plan B when coming up against defensive teams.
Swansea boss Carlos Carvalhal had predicted he had a secret tactic to battle Liverpool before the match and was proved correct.
“I talked with my players and said this Liverpool is a really strong team,” said Carvalhal.
“They are like a Formula 1 car. But at 4pm in London it will be difficult to speed, they would be a car like any other.
“We needed to make sure there was traffic, we could not let them have open roads to drive in.”
